Abhyanga

Abhyanga is one of the most important therapys of Ayurveda.
A body massage with medicated oils customized to your body type, detoxify, nourish and revitalize the body tissues (Dhatus).
Abhyanga has a much deeper and far more reaching effect than an ordinary massage using medicated oils.
Abhyanga achieves its deepest healing effect by naturally harmonizing the mind, body and Spirit.

This therapy is usually given by two therapists and is usually followed by a herbal bath or medicated steam bath “Swedana”.
Swedana opens the pores, flushes and cleanses the system through the sweat glands and reduces stiffness in the muscles.
It is also an important preparation procedure of Panchakarma.
This therapy delays the aging process and is indispensable for balancing the Vata dosha.

Navarakizhi / Shastika Shali Pinda Sweda

This therapy is used to stimulate the nerves and strengthen muscles.
Njavara, a kind of paddy which has medicinal properties, is boiled in a medicinal decoction and kizhi is made with the boiled njavara. The kizhi is dipped in a mixture of milk and a medicinal decoction and is applied all over the body.
This treatment involves the application of a special Njavara rice paste. The body is massaged gently with linen bags filled with Njavara rice cooked well in the herbal kizhi mixture.

The treatment is useful in musculoskeletal disorders, degenerative conditions and neurological problems.
It is a process by which the whole body or any specific part of the body is made to perspire by the application of certain medical mixtures applied externally in the form of boluses tied up in a muslin bags.

Pizhichil


Lukewarm medicated oil is applied on your body while you are lying on the "Dharapathi", an ayurvedic massage table.
The oil is selected after careful analysis of the patient's need, body construction (physiological constitution of each individual), digestive power, etc.
The medicated oil is pressed out of a cloth uniformly over the body at a defined height and massaged gently in firm and rhythmic strokes.
Pizhichil is a classic rejuvenation and Anti-aging therapy and it rejuvenates the entire body, treating each cell deeply.

Warm medicated oil is continuously poured on to the forehead followed by a head and face relaxing massage.
It deeply relaxes and revitalizes all the sensory organs including the central nervous system, improves mental alertness and helps shorten the recovery time from paralytic strokes.
Shirodhara is particularly beneficial in soothing the nerves and pacifying the mind.
This treatment works physically on the pineal, pituitary and hypothalamus glands, which organize and regulate all hormonal secretions.

These secretions are responsible not only for physiological processes such as digestion, respiration, excretion, etc., but also for mood and emotional states.
Shirodhara generates a deep state of relaxation in which the brain waves resemble the state of deep sleep while remaining conscious and the body begins to generate endorphins to rebuild the body's defence system.
Shirodhara clears both the mind and the senses allowing the body to activate the natural mechanisms to release the stress of the nervous system. This in turn improves mental clarity and understanding.
Shirodhara is recommended, with notable effects, to people who need a high degree of concentration and intellectual performance.

Udvarthanam

This is a traditional brisk massage with herbal powders for obesity, cellulite, etc.
Udvarthanam is a stimulating massage using special herbal powder to reduce cellulite accumulations, improve circulation and enhance your skin's texture and appearance.

We thoroughly exfoliate your body using a powerful mixture of Ayurvedic powders which will break up fatty deposits and energize blood circulation.
Typically, the patient is massaged with herbal powders for about 30 minutes daily for a period of 21 to 28 days.

This treatment is for diseases like:

Sarvangadhara

The controlled dousing of warm-medicated oils in an even stream with simultaneous massage.
Strengthens and tones the body, enhances libido, improves appetite and digestion.
It is an extremely rejuvenating therapy.



Netra Tarpana/Akshi Tarpana

A special treatment for the eyes to relieve tiredness and improve eyesight (especially for Computer professionals).




Kati Basti, Chakra Basti, Hrid Basti and Shiro Basti

These are special techniques aimed at providing relief to the lower back, back of the neck, lower abdomen, the heart and head.
These procedures involve the application of medicated oil to those areas using a special technique.

Talapodichil

A special ayurvedic herbal paste is pasted on the head for 30-45 minutes.

According to the body type, a specific medicated oil is applied to the head for 30-45 minutes in a special manner.

Kashaya Seka

This revitalizing treatment is given immediately after Abhyanga.
A continuous pouring of a warm herbal decoction all over the body and simultaneous massaging by 4 therapists, performed for 45 minutes. At the same time Shirodhara is also given.
This therapy removes Kapha and Vata toxins.

Padaghata

This is a very unique whole body massage using feet instead of hands.
It is performed by two therapists for one hour.

Shiroabhyanga

A soothing massage of the head, neck & shoulder using warm herbal oils.

Padaabhyanga

A very stimulating massage of the lower legs and the feet to activate the acu-pressure points.
